BYK itself does not manufacture disinfectants or raw materials for disinfection, but BYK rheology additives are effective in imparting viscosity to mixtures of alcohol based on ethanol or isopropanol and water. Disinfectants and surface cleaners have the advantage of being able to remain in one place for a long time if their viscosity does not decrease with water. By combining CMC in an aqueous slurry, it is effective for improving the peeling strength of copper foil and adjusting viscosity.

When LAPONITE-RD, a synthetic layered silicate, is used in combination with polymer thickening agents, electrostatic interactions occur between oppositely charged regions of the molecules of polymer co-thickening agents such as carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC). Rheology (Layered Inorganic) Additive 'GARAMITE -7305'

Powdered rheology additives for high polarity solvent systems and solvent-free systems that improve storage stability and anti-settling properties.

GARAMITE-7305 is a rheology additive that exhibits superior properties compared to conventional organic affinity phyllosilicates (organic clays). Conventional phyllosilicates require high shear forces and polar activators (surfactants) to promote dispersion during formulation. In contrast, GARAMITE-7305 can be easily dispersed and activated with moderate shear forces in solvents and binders. By using GARAMITE-7305, it becomes possible to achieve high viscosity formulations in low shear areas, resulting in excellent sedimentation prevention effects and anti-syneresis properties. When shear forces are applied, viscosity significantly decreases, greatly improving application characteristics.
